What We Build

Four things a single tap can do for you

Every Capstone Tek product is two halves working together: branded NFC hardware you can hold, and a secure web experience you can edit any time. Same technology, four very different jobs.

Product Authentication & Education

A tag on the bottle, box or seal. One tap proves the item is genuine, then teaches the buyer how to use it — and captures their details while trust is at its highest.

  • Tamper-evident, serialised tags
  • Branded verification page
  • First-party customer data

Why a tap wins

Every extra step costs you people

Searching, scanning, typing, signing in — each one loses a share of your audience. A tap is a single physical action that takes about a second and needs no instructions.

Faster than anything else

No camera to line up, no app to open, no URL to type. Hold the phone to the card and the page is already loading.

Hard to fake

A printed code can be photocopied. An NFC chip carries a factory-locked unique identifier that copying the artwork cannot reproduce.

Editable after printing

The tag stores a link, not content. Change the page, the offer or the destination without replacing a single card.

Measurable

Every tap is a data point: which card, when, roughly where, and what the person did next. You finally know what your print is doing.

Honest comparison

How a tap compares to everything else

We sell NFC, so take this with the appropriate salt — but these are the real trade-offs, including the places where something cheaper does the job perfectly well.

Our standard recommendation is NFC with a printed QR fallback on the same object. It costs almost nothing extra and removes the only real weakness of either one.

What you receive

Not just a box of stickers

Every project, whatever its size, arrives as the same five things. The hardware is the part you can hold; the other four are what make it work.

01

Branded hardware

Cards, labels, tags, stands or stickers produced in your colours, with your logo, in the format and finish your surface needs.

02

Encoding & locking

Every unit written with its destination, recorded against your records, tested, and locked so the link cannot be overwritten.

03

The page behind the tap

A designed, mobile-first, HTTPS page built around what you want to happen next — not a generic template with your logo dropped in.

04

A way to change it

Access to edit the content, swap the destination or update an offer, so the hardware you already shipped keeps earning.

05

Reporting & support

What was tapped, when, roughly where and what happened next — plus a person on the phone when you need one.

Formats & materials

One technology, a dozen physical shapes

The chip is the same. What changes is what we wrap it in — and getting that right is the difference between a product that reads first time, every time, and one that frustrates people.

We specify the format against the surface it will live on, not against a catalogue. Metal needs a ferrite layer. A wine neck needs a small antenna. A wedding invitation needs an inlay thin enough to disappear inside cotton board.

Measurement

Finally, print you can actually measure

A leaflet tells you nothing. A tag tells you which unit was tapped, when, roughly where, and what the person did in the thirty seconds afterwards.

Taps over timeVolume by day, week and campaign, so you can see what a promotion actually did.
Per-unit attributionWhich card, which till, which table, which product line, which batch.
Rough geographyCountry and region level — enough to spot grey-market movement, not enough to track a person.
Completion rateHow many taps turned into a saved contact, a posted review, an RSVP or a registration.
Repeat engagementUnits tapped more than once — a strong signal that the content is genuinely useful.
ExportablePull the raw numbers out whenever you want them. It is your data, not ours.

Who we work with

From one wedding to a whole product portfolio

The technology scales down as happily as it scales up. We are as comfortable doing one event properly as tagging an entire range.

Brand owners & manufacturers

Protect a product line from copies, teach buyers how to use it properly, and finally own a customer list when you sell through retail.

Restaurants, cafés & retail

Collect the reviews your service already deserves, at the counter, in the moment, without anybody having to search for you.

Hotels & hospitality groups

Reception, rooms and restaurants — review collection and guest information across every property, reported per site.

Sales & professional teams

Consistent, always-current digital business cards for everybody, with central control and leads that reach your CRM.

Couples, families & planners

Invitations that look like fine stationery and quietly handle RSVPs, directions, dress code and the photo album.

Agencies, printers & stationers

We supply encoded inlays and build the page behind the tap while you keep the client relationship and the design.

Security & privacy

Straight about what NFC can and cannot do

Some suppliers oversell this. Here is the accurate version, which is still a strong one.

What we do

  • Lock tag memory after encoding so the stored link cannot be overwritten in the field
  • Anchor authentication to the chip's factory-written identifier, not the printed artwork
  • Serve every destination over HTTPS, with no personal data stored on the tag itself
  • Keep the read range short, so a tag can never be read without the holder's intent
  • Give you your captured data in a form you can export and take elsewhere
  • Ship a QR fallback so nobody is excluded from the experience

What we will not claim

  • That a tag "cannot be cloned" — the link can be copied; the locked identifier and your records are what make it provable
  • That NFC works on every phone ever made — it does not, which is why the fallback exists
  • That a standard tag reads on metal — it does not, without a ferrite layer
  • That a tap can install software or take payment — it only ever suggests a web address
  • That we can guarantee a review rate, a conversion rate or an engagement rate before a pilot
  • That your data is useful to us — it is yours, and we do not sell it
How we work together

From first conversation to live and working

Three stages, shaped around your project rather than a fixed template. Timings depend on what you are making and how many you need — tell us what you have in mind and we will give you a schedule with the quote.

01
Design & build

We shape it with you

We agree what the tap should do, specify the right hardware for your surface, and design both the card and the page behind it. You approve a proof before anything is produced.

  • Branded hardware artwork
  • Custom page designed to match
  • Digital proof for your sign-off
02
Launch

We prove it works

Hardware is produced, encoded and tested, then delivered ready to use. We start somewhere contained — one product line, one location, one team — so you see a real result before you commit further.

  • Produced, encoded and tested
  • A contained first rollout
  • Real engagement data, not estimates
03
Grow

We scale what worked

More products, more sites, more people — plus deeper integration with the systems you already run. Your content stays editable throughout, so the programme keeps improving without new hardware.

  • Wider rollout on proven numbers
  • CRM and system integration
  • Ongoing support and reporting

How long will mine take?

It depends entirely on the product, the finish and the quantity — so we would rather tell you properly than print a number here. Send us the details and you will have a realistic schedule, in writing, with your quote.

Make every product prove it's real.

Questions

Answers before you pick up the phone

The six questions we are asked most often. There are another sixteen on the FAQ page, and a technical explainer on the how-it-works page.

Still unsure which product fits?

Tell us what you want a tap to do and we will tell you straight whether NFC is the right tool for it.

Ask us directly

Capstone Tek makes two halves of one product: the NFC hardware (stickers, cards, tags and keyrings printed with your branding) and the secure web experience that opens when someone taps it. That experience can verify a product, show a digital business card, send a customer to your Google review page or open an interactive event invitation.

No. Modern iPhones (XS and newer, running iOS 14 or later) and Android phones with NFC read tags straight from the lock screen or home screen. A notification appears, the customer taps it, and your page opens in their normal browser. Nothing is installed.

If you sell a physical product that gets copied or misused, start with product authentication. If you meet people and want them to keep your details, use a digital business card. If you run a store, restaurant, salon or hotel, use review cards. If you are hosting a wedding or event, use interactive invitations. Many clients run two or more together.

Yes. Every sticker, card and tag is produced with your artwork — logo, colours, finish and copy. We supply a print-ready template, send a digital proof before production, and can produce a physical sample for approval on larger runs.

A straightforward rollout takes two to four weeks: a scoping call, artwork and page design, a proof, production and encoding, then delivery. Digital-only products such as a single e-card profile can be live far sooner.

Capstone Tek is based in Woodridge, Illinois, and works with clients across the United States and Canada — from single-location restaurants and independent professionals to brands rolling out tags across an entire product line.
